Early Easter DIY

DSC_0586

I can’t wait till it’s Spring and for me Spring starts when it’s Easter.

With this DIY you have to start early, because if you would like a lot of Easter eggs, it will take a while, because it’s a lot of work, but don’t they look beautifull!

First you take an egg, don’t boil it! Wash the egg, you know where it comes from:)

Make a hole on the top and bottom of the egg

DSC_0678

Then you blow as hard as you can on the top hole form the egg

DSC_0715

It’s not always that easy and try to hold the eggs with all ten fingers, to prevent them from breaking, again you have rinse the egg when it’s empty.

DSC_0717

Then you follow this pattern for the egg shown in the picture above

patroon paasei

Here the signs are explained, the pattern is made in two parts and you attach the second part to the first part in the last row where you see the arrows with a single crochet. Put your egg inside before closing and when it’s still wide enough.

When your egg is finished you take a piece off ribbon from about 15 inch long and make a knot

DSC_0671

Take a very thin crochet needle or long needle and put it through the egg.

Than work the ribbon first through the bottom and then through the top of the egg.

Put some branches which start to sprout in a vase and hang your eggs in it.

4th October World Animals Day

DSC_0550

It’s almost Worlds Animals Day and to threat your dog with a great toy, I post this older post of mine again! It doesn’t cost much time and money:)

To make this great toy for your dog I used, 12 strings t-shirt yarn from about 1,2 yard long.

You devide the string in four parts from 3 strings and start the scoubidou technic, one I did with the round technic

and one with the straight technic

When you want to see the full explenation of the technic you can find it here.

In my Etsyshop and my own webshop www.lvly.nl I sell bundles t-shirt yarn from  Hoooked Zpagetti, but if you only want 12 strings for your dogtoy, you can click here I made a special listing for the dogtoy strings:)

Our dog loves this toy. We also sell them and give our profits to the seeing eye dogs

Crochet shorts

20130716-012925.jpg

The last couple of months I have been busy, on and of, making these crochet short for my daugther. Luckily they where finished in time, because only last week was the first day we could go to the beach.

I bought the pattern on Etsy, I made some adjustments because my daughter likes to wear her pants low. It’s not an easy pattern, but for skilled crochet artists a job they will manage.

It’s made with such a very thin yarn and needle that it almost looks like lace.

My daughter is very happy with these beautiful crochet shorts

re-styled jeans shorts

My daugther and I re-styled her shorts that became to tight around her legs. It was here idea and I did the sewing part. You can also do this with long jeans but you have to cut them to short pants first.

You need a piece of lace that’s about 12cm wide and 30 cm long, I bought mine HERE and your shortsfoto 2 foto 4

Cut a piece out of your short on both sides, like shown in the picture

With a sewing machine you attach the lace to the pants

With a pin you ruffle the edges
